There are over YMCA's in the world.

We want to see a church planted in every single one.

We are a movement of churches from all over the country and the world that are intentionally partnered with the YMCA. Our expressions of church look different in our diverse YMCA settings, but we are all united around our desire to see Jesus Christ exalted in and through the Y.

What is the CITY Movement?

A group of like-minded churches committed to exalting Jesus and planting churches in YMCAs across the world. We are Churches In The Y (CITY). We do not just rent a room until we can build our own building, but we believe that God has called us to the YMCA for a great purpose!

Who is a part of the CITY Movement?

Churches from all over the United States and all over the world. We are a movement of churches from Seattle, Orlando, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Memphis, Cincinnati and many more.

What does it mean to be a CITY Movement Church?

A church in the CITY Movement commits to five things:

  1. To strategically partner with the YMCA as a primary platform of ministry.
  2. To follow in belief and practice the doctrinal positions of the Lausanne Covenant and the mission statement of the World Alliance of the YMCA.
  3. To engage in a ministry philosophy to love, serve and care for the YMCA.
  4. To pursue healthy church multiplication throughout the global platform of the YMCA.
  5. To consider attending the Annual Silver Bay YMCA Network Conference for the purpose of mutual assessment and vision clarification
