Watch your step,
and the road will stretch out smooth before you.
Look neither right nor left;
leave evil in the dust.”

    and rend your hearts and not your garments.”
Return to the Lord your God,
    for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
    and he relents over disaster.
 Who knows whether he will not turn and relent,
    and leave a blessing behind him,
a grain offering and a drink offering
    for the Lord your God?

 Blow the trumpet in Zion;
    consecrate a fast;
call a solemn assembly;
     gather the people.”

March 31 – Marlene Collins – Lamentations 3:22-24

Enjoy this morning’s devotional from Marlene Collins, one of our Bible study leaders and the wife of Elder Steve Collins:

Hi Antioch! I miss your beautiful faces! Because each new day brings its own uncertainty, I’ve been holding tight to Lamentations 3:22-24.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in Him.'”

“The Lord is my portion.” Those five words carry all the security and peace of the salvation we have in Jesus. “The Lord is my portion” is the definition of life in Christ.

Our portion –our inheritance– is founded in His steadfast love, His unending mercy, His great faithfulness. Because He is our portion, we can meet each new morning with the certainty of His presence with us and rest in the hope we have in Him. GREAT is His faithfulness!!

With love and prayers, Marlene Collins
