Outdoor Worship Gathering
Church Family,
As you know, starting June 7th, we will be transitioning into our next ‘phase’ of re-opening – House Churches. To celebrate this and Pentecost, which is this Sunday, we are going to be holding an outdoor worship evening this weekend.
Pentecost was originally a Jewish holiday celebrating the revelation of Torah being given at Mt. Sinai and is related to the beginning of the wheat harvest. It was during this holiday that the Holy Spirit came upon the original followers of Jesus who were in a time of shelter and waiting in an upper room. The Holy Spirit came upon them in an amazing way and they began sharing the Gospel, worshipping vibrantly and meeting in house churches. We see a beautiful parallel and we are asking the Holy Spirit to move upon us once again with fresh insight, understanding, and power for a new harvest in our day!
On Sunday, May 31, from 6:00-7:30, we will be gathering at the YMCA Pool Pavilion for some worship and prayer. We would love for you to join us. It will be a very low-key event, and we are looking forward to a wonderful evening of worship.
We will have picnic tables and chairs set up at an appropriate distance from each other, and would ask that you bring a blanket to sit on in the grass, just in case those tables and chairs fill up. Please bring whatever would make you feel comfortable – your own bag chair, a mask, etc.
To help us get a feel for how many people are going to attend, would you please RSVP Here? If you get emailed ‘tickets’, don’t worry about bringing them – it is purely for us to get a grip on what kind of crowd to expect and adjust our plans accordingly.
A few things that we want to make sure we communicate about this event:
1. We would ask that, before you come, you do a basic family ‘well-check’. If anyone is feeling any sort of symptoms, please stay home!
2. This is not a restart of public services…that will come later.
3. Each person should feel comfortable to evaluate their own situation and risk factors, and make their own best decision before the Lord. We are happy to answer any questions.
Please come to the southern-most parking lot at the Y, by the outdoor pool. Please let us know if you have any questions!
Looking forward to being together.
